The resupply buckets are all sent out and should be at their proper destinations soon. My mother-in-law is going to be our trail angel and take 2 resupply buckets to us at 2 different locations. ( She is awesome).
Some of our breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners include: cheese potatoes, granola & oatmeal, hot chocolate, apple sauce, lasagna, chili, tuna, ramen, plenty of energy bars (epic, cliff, nutri-grain, etc.), gold-fish, dried fruit, chocolate covered berries, energy shots, and a lot more.
I’m not packing a lot of clothes for our trip, I do not want to deal with carrying a lot of weight my pack itself is around 30 lbs. Here are some of the items of clothing I will be taking with me:
My pack also has: my sleeping back, sleeping bag liner, sleeping bag mat, poncho, 1 of our bear canisters with food and toiletries, flash light, collapsible bucket, journal, pen, water filter, and camel pack. I’m sure there are a few other little things that I may be forgetting but are already pack.
I’m really excited and at the same time I’m having a hard time admitting that the time is finally here. Something that Adam and I have been wanting to do for a while is just around the corner and we will be submerge in the beauty of the Sierras. No communication to the outside world (except for 2 locations) It is going to be incredible and I can not wait to write about it once I come back. Like I said before I will be keeping a journal hopefully so I can go ahead and translate my emotions from the trail to this blog . I was thinking of scanning the pages in hopes of sharing my thoughts and feelings with those who read my blog.
I’m a little emotional being away from my father for such a long time. As some of you may know we are very close and we talk to each other several times per day. This is going to be a bit hard for me, but I know he is very supportive and he is very excited for both Adam and I.
I will also be away from my little doxie Wollie, my mother-in-law (our trail angel) who has always encourage us to follow our dreams and support us with our trip planning is also helping by taking care of Wollie while we are gone. We are truly blessed to have such supportive and loving parents.
See you all at the end of the month,
