After a 12 hour flight and a 16 hour time difference Adam and I arrived at Haneda Airport around 10:30 pm. There was no hassle coming in and getting our luggage, what took a bit longer was finding the shuttle to the hotel we are staying in before getting our apartment. The instructions on the map were a bit confusing and we got sent around a few times, but turns out Adam had the correct place all along.
Once on the shuttle, it only took a few minutes to get to the hotel and check in. At the front desk I was offered a choice from 3 little gifts that they offer female guests. The one I chose included a face-mask, hair clip and a bath luffa. Nothing fancy but I thought it was sweet that they offered that.
Our hotel room is not very big, but it’s a comfortable size. Good for for our 2 day stay. Ota, Tokyo is a nice district. It’s not as lively as what I expect some of the other areas to be but there are shops around and a lot of parks. Adam and I took a walk around the town in the morning, we just wandered with no destination. We ended up visiting 2 parks, a shrine and Koujiya shopping street.
Lunch in the park
Tomorrow we leave Ota and head to Koenji to get our place where we will be staying for the rest of the trip. I’m really excited about it because there are a lot of little unique shops in the area.
