Influenster sent me the Curel Itch Defense #VoxBox, which included a full size sample of the Curel Itch Defense InstantSoothing Moisturizing spray, and a travel size Curel Itch Defense Body Wash. The bottle works just like the sunscreen spray bottles, where you twist the top to open and close. The application process is easy, you spray it 3 to 5 inches away from your skin and spray over the itchy or dry area in a continuous motion, and gently rub in as needed. The weather is getting colder in Portland, and I thought it would be an excellent time to give this spray a try. I used the spray a couple of time since I received the package, and it works well with my skin. Immediately after applying it I can tell the difference my skin felt soft and hydrated, but the effects didn’t last very long. But maybe that is how it’s supposed to work since the bottle does advertise “Instant Relief” rather than long lasting. The scent of the lotion wasn’t something I liked, even though it states that it has no added fragrance. It doesn’t smell bad, but I just think it would be better if it had a different scent or no scent at all. Something I didn’t like was the fact that I did not see the Cruelty Free or No Tested on Animals logos anywhere on these products. I did some research online, but I couldn’t get a specific answer where it states that Curel does not test on animals. According to PETA.com their parent company Kao does test on animals and that is something I’m not willing to support. My overall opinion is that the product worked, but not as long as I would have liked.
