Attention pet owners, summer is here and the temperature is rising. Please be a responsible pet parent and always remember to have accessible water for your animals, and if you plan to travel with your pets DO NOT LEAVE THEM IN THE CAR. I understand that Oregon has a cooler climate compare to California, but this past few months I have encounter dozen of dogs left in cars and it just breaks my heart. We have been experiencing hotter weather here in the Pacific North West and it really sickens me to see little animals stuck in cars. A couple of weeks ago Adam and I went to a brewery and when we came out we heard a little dog barking and crying. There he was the poor little dog locked in with all windows up. It was super hot, I was furious and ready to call the authorities.
If you own a dog or any other pet and you plan on running errands or travel with your pets be sure you plan ahead. You are responsible for their lives. It is your responsibility as their owner to take care of them. You wouldn’t lock your child in a car with the windows rolled up, would you? Why would you think it’s okay to leave your pet there? Remember that even though the windows may be a bit open, cars tend to be a lot hotter than the temperature outside.
