Diana and I took a trip to Bend, OR, for the New Year, so we decided to do a hike on the first in order to start the year off right. It was a little difficult to find a hike that would be doable without hardcore snow gear, so we opted to head to the Oregon Badlands, a desert hike with limited elevation change seemed like an ideal option. We started from the Flatiron Rock Trailhead and took the Ancient Juniper Trail to Flatiron Rock. It wasn’t a very intense hike, but the area was very pretty, especially with the snow. Unfortunately, with the winter sun we didn’t have a lot of time to explore, but if we were to go back I would definitely look forward to heading further into the Badlands.
