During our time in Japan, Adam and I rented a small (very small) apartment in Koenji. This little town is full of colorful shops and friendly locals. We had a great time exploring Tokyo, and life in Koenji was such a blast. Even though our apartment was very small compare to what we are used to, it worked just fine. I mean the month prior to living in Koenji, Adam and I were living in a tent in the mountains, so the little apartment was a step up.
I truly hope that one day I’m able to go back and visit Tokyo again and spend some more time exploring Koenji. I have so many vivid memories of this place. I remember going grocery shopping at the local market and walking back at night and I would always nod with a smile to one of the bouncers at one of the clubs. He had a serious look to him, but he seem to happy whenever I said hello. I also loved going to Floresta and buy really cute donuts. The lady there was really nice and would always correct my Japanese whenever I was order. I miss walking from the station to our apartment…Koenji holds a very special place in my heart.
