This week has been a bit of a crazy ride for me. Everything at work is going great, the more I’m there, the more I like it. My coworkers are all very kind people and the patients are so sweet. At home we are almost all unpacked. We still need to arrange some stuff and buy a few more things but everything is coming along. However, as the week went on, I ended up being in a car accident on Thursday night on my way home. I’m mostly okay, just sore in a few places with headaches here and there. My neck and my ribs are bothering me the most. (don’t worry I’m already under treatment with a doctor) Unfortunately, the inconsiderate a-hole that hit me did not stop. The driver literally smashed into my car 2 times and just sped up and fled the scene. I filed reports both with the police and insurance and I’m still hoping to get a call from the police saying they saw something on the traffic cameras. ( trying to stay positive)
I was able to see a doctor on Friday and got some x-rays done to see if there are any bones, or ligament damage. I also took a ROM test and they did see some changes in my ROM, but I’m hoping that it was just all soreness from the night before. The doctor that treated me Friday did a fantastic job and she was super understanding of how bummed I was feeling. I felt well taken care of, which is sometime people need after an accident. So now I’m doing treatments 3 times per week and using my cold and hot pack. Here is to a quick road to recovery.
This morning I woke up feeling a little better, my ribs were not hurting as much and I had less neck pain. So Adam and I decided to head to SE for the Portland Fresh Hop Festival. Our first beer festival in Oregon. It was a very small event, but it had a lot of people. The nice thing was that it was family & pet friendly. We enjoyed some delicious steak & cheese sandwiches and had a few beers. I wasn’t really up for drinking ( SHOCKING) since my back started hurting a lot while we were there. (Ended up going home to use my cold pack and take a nap)
But it was still really nice to be outside and hang out with other beer lovers. Adam and I had a great time and there will be a post about the beer festival on our new beer blog. Anythingfora.beer is the new website that will be replacing our old blog Potable Poison. We decided that we needed something new since we started a new chapter in our lives here in the PNW. The beer doll is still photographing and writing as a guest blogger under Anything For A Beer. So stay tune for more beer updates.
I also discover a Japanese Market about 10 minutes from my house. I was super excited when Adam took me there. They have a lot of the actual candies and drinks that I had in Japan this summer and things that Asian Markets in California did not have. I’m thinking about going back soon and picking up a few things to share with you as a DIY video and blog entries.
